ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Based on the principles of Freudian free association and Jungian active imagination, Authentic Movement is the ritual of tending to, responding from, and acting on one's genuine movement impulses. It is founded on the belief that moving from an authentic impulse can create changes in the psyche, and that this movement must be in the presence of a witness who can contain the experience for the mover. No prior movement experience necessary, and all LCAT modalities are welcome to attend. Please use the registration form below and confirm your placement with a PayPal deposit.
IN THIS WORKSHOP, participants will:
• Understand the basic principles and theoretical framework of practicing Authentic Movement
• Experience the Authentic Movement practice as both a mover and a beginning witness
• Deepen and expand connection to an observing ego, and understand how this can be used therapeutically
• Adapt the principles of Authentic Movement to a variety of patient populations and treatment settings
